21.1.07: Little Shop of Horrors

I saw Little Shop of Horrors last night at the Menier Chocolate Factory. The Chocolate Factory is a tiny, tiny venue in Southwark, and I was a little worried that this would be reflected in the budget for the production especially considering the cheapforamusical price of £24 a ticket. But if it had monetary constraints, it didn’t show. Ignore the bias of it being possibly my favourite musical, (my sister and I used to watch the 1986 film of the musical to near religious proportions), it was absolutely superb in every way possible and completely deserving of the five star reviews it’s collected in it’s short run. I’m really tempted to go and see it again when it moves to the West End, and I’ll definitely try to catch more things at the Chocolate Factory.
